People’s Bible Church (PBC). PBC has been in existence since January of 1992. Three men and their wives led by Bill and Ethel Vandyke decided to form an independent, non-denominational bible based church for Portland’s homeless community.
The founders of PBC have all passed on since then, but over the years God has granted PBC with pastors, leaders and visionaries to continue to carry on Ethel and Bill’s vision.
Our Mission is to Exalt God, Edify Believers & Evangelize the Lost by providing regular worship service for the homeless believers of Portland in an atmosphere of acceptance and support- preaching the work of God through prayer, testimonies and song.
PBC has regular church services every Saturday. That service also includes breakfast and lunch prepared by dedicated volunteers. On any given Saturday PBC serves anywhere from 80 to 150 people, and all food and supplies are donated from community organizations.
